The Ansarullah Bangla Team, whom Al-Qaida has publicly praised, has been blamed for a series of murders of bloggers and activists in Bangladesh. Amid the attacks in Brussels on Tuesday, ISIS also claimed responsibility for stabbing Hossain Ali, a Christian convert, to death in northern Bangladesh on the same day, the latest killing declared by the militant group in the Muslim-majority nation. The country has seen a surge in Islamist violence where liberal activists, minority Muslim sects, foreigners and other religious groups have been targeted. The terrorist networks are popping up all over the world and in recent months, Bangladesh has seen a series of attacks on bloggers, foreigners, and religious groups including Shiite, Ahmadi Muslims, Christians and Hindus. Since 2013, six bloggers have been murdered with others also attacked, and since September 2015 ISIS has claimed responsibility for twelve attacks throughout the Muslim majority country.
